मानसी साळवी आठवतेयं?

आशीर्वाद, कर्तव्य, हुकूमत, कोई अपना सा, नूपुर, सौदामिनी यासारख्या अनेक मालिका तिने केलेल्या आहेत. इतक्यात म्हणजे १९ जानेवारीला ती ३१ वर्षाची झाली. हेमंत प्रभु याच्याशी लग्न करुन (आणि एका गोंडस मुलाची आई झाल्यामुळे) ती गायब झाली होती. आता गोदरेज इंटेरियोच्या जाहीरातीतुन ती परत आलीय.

लवकरच ’सदरक्षणाय’ हा मानसी साळवीचा नविन स्त्रीप्रधान चित्रपट येतोय. 'जन्म', 'सुखान्त', 'रीटा', ’मी सिंधूताई सपकाळ’ ह्या स्त्रीप्रधान सिनिमांच कौतुक झाल्यामुळे सध्या मराठी चित्रपटसृष्टीत स्त्रीप्रधान सिनेमांची लाट आलीय.

पण हा एक वेगळा चित्रपट आहे. यात मी एका कर्तव्यनिष्ठ महिला पोलीसाची भुमिका करतेयं. सर्व महिलांना ही माझ्याकडुन खास महिलादिनाची भेट असल्याचं मानसी आवर्जुन सांगते.

Sadarakshanaay is a story about ACP Vidya Pandit of Mumbai police who is also a wife, mother and daughter-in-law to her family, fulfilling the demands of each role as the quinetessential Indian woman.

The film explores the trials and tribulations of a woman who has to essay the roles of a homemaker, a mother and a daughter-in-law and juggle between making breakfast, lunch and dinner for the family as well as prove her mettle as a cop. While she is lauded for one hand for her task as a fearless cop, she is preparing breaktfast at home as her mother-in-law has packed off the maid.

But this is just one aspect. Despite proving herself every time, Vidya faces one difficult taks after another. And at times, it is not easy making that vital choice that can make or break her life. During her posting at the crime branch once, a bomb blast occurs in Mumbai and Vidya’s son is seriously injured. His legs now need to be amputated. Amidst this emotional situation, she is handed over the charge of investigating the bomb blast case. She has to leave her son at the hospital and find the criminal behind the blast. There is a drastic turn in Vidya’s life when she goes about her task of living up to the words Sadarakshanaay.
